CHAIRMAN OF STAKP COUNTRY OPENING THE SEMINAR OF DOSE RESEARCH PROPOSAL YEAR 2017
In order to improve the quality of lecturers of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung, the government through the Ministry of Religious Affair offers research grant to fund 40 (forty) titles of research in State Christian Theological School of Tarutung which is widely open for all lecturers. They will be competing with one another to get the research grant in some criteria, i.e. Major Development Research (Christian Religion Education, Theology, Pastoral Counseling, and Music), Postgraduate Development Research, Individual Research, and Collaborative Research with Undergraduate Students (taking their final semester) and Graduate Students (Master and Doctoral).
According to the head of Research and Community Service Center (Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat/P3M) of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung Sudirman Lase, M.Pd.K., the research proposal drafts submitted to P3M will then be verified, and the teams of researchers who pass the verification will present their research proposals in front of the assessor team in the research seminar forum attended by lecturers and students, held on 13-27 May 2017 in the Mini Hall of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung.
The research proposal materials which are approved by the assessor team will then get the research fund through DIPA of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung and will move to the next steps which are data collection, data analysis, and findings report until October 2017.
In the opening of research proposal seminar on Thursday, 13 May 2017, turned up the First, Second, and Third Deans, Director of Postgraduate School, Head of Lecturers’ Senate, the researcher teams, and all participants (lecturers and students). The Head of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung, Prof. Dr. Lince Sihombing, M.Pd., in her address said that research for lecturers was the primary part in realizing the Tri Dharma. Lecturers were obliged to do research as a responsibility of Lecturers’ Workload (Beban Kerja Dosen/BKD). Lecturers had to take any opportunity to compete whenever research grant was available. Therefore, lecturers needed to improve their quality and hard work as the competition was getting tighter to win the research grant from either State Christian Theological School of Tarutung or other resources.
In the end of her speech, the Head of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung told the audience that soon in that year, State Christian Theological School of Tarutung will transform into the State Christian Institute of Tarutung. The visitation teams from the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucracy Reform, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs would visit the campus on 1-2 June 2017 to observe the propriety of State Christian Theological School of Tarutung to transform into State Christian Institute of Tarutung.
